You will own legal operations for a nationally recognized healthcare system, shaping strategy for a department handling high-stakes matters. You will partner with leadership to define priorities, implement CLM workflows, and drive adoption of Ironclad and Ariba across the organization. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead a team of five and manage a $15M outside counsel budget. What You'll Do7

  • 1Develop and execute the legal operations strategy aligned with Banner Health's goals, focusing on efficiency, value delivery, and innovation.
  • 2Drive adoption of CLM workflows by training legal and business teams on Ironclad, building new approval chains and document templates.
  • 3Optimize outside counsel billing and spend management, negotiating rates and implementing eBilling systems to track invoices.
  • 4Design and implement KPIs for legal performance, using Power BI dashboards to report on matter trends and budget variance.
  • 5Lead cross-functional projects integrating Salesforce and ServiceNow for matter intake, reducing response times by 30%.
  • 6Build and mentor the legal operations team, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • 7Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline contract review and signature cycles, cutting turnaround by 40%.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years of progressive legal operations or law firm management experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • 2Proven track record implementing CLM and eBilling systems, with hands-on experience in Ironclad or Ariba.
  • 3Strong project management skills with PMP certification preferred.
  • 4Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau for data analysis and executive reporting.
  • 5Budget management experience overseeing $5M+ in outside counsel spend.
  • 6Experience in healthcare corporate environment preferred.
  • 7Active CLOC membership or certification preferred.
  • 8Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
