Overview

Own daily care and community integration for 2-4 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Indianapolis. You will report to leadership and collaborate with a team of DSPs and supervisors to deliver person-centered services. What You'll Do10

  • 1Perform personal care tasks including hygiene, grooming, feeding, ambulation, and toileting for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • 2Administer medication reminders and track self-administration as part of daily health monitoring.
  • 3Plan and prepare meals, including grocery shopping, cooking, serving, and cleanup.
  • 4Handle home management duties like light housekeeping, laundry, and bed making.
  • 5Accompany individuals to appointments and run errands using your own vehicle.
  • 6Document services provided daily, ensuring accurate and timely records.
  • 7Foster positive relationships between caretakers and individuals to support social engagement.
  • 8Report changes in condition or family situation to supervisors immediately.
  • 9Encourage self-help activities and community participation.
  • 10Ensure safety and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment in home and community settings.

Requirements9

  • 1High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 218 years or older
  • 3Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • 4Clean criminal history check
  • 5Ability to handle physical tasks: bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for extended periods
  • 6Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 7Comfort working in home and community settings
  • 8Reliable transportation for client transport and errands
  • 9Flexibility to work 6 am - 10 am shifts
