Dimensional Analysis Technician I, Automotive Quality
Overview
You will own dimensional analysis and inspection for automotive components at a high-volume facility in Allen Park, MI. You will work with CMM and GD&T standards to validate parts against specifications. Joining a team of quality engineers and technicians, you will support production launch and ongoing quality control. This role offers immediate start and a 12-month contract with potential for extension, working Monday through Friday with overtime as needed.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate CMM equipment to measure part dimensions and verify conformance to GD&T callouts.
- 2Document inspection results in quality databases and generate reports for engineering review.
- 3Collaborate with production staff to identify dimensional issues and implement corrective actions.
- 4Calibrate and maintain CMM fixtures and tools to ensure measurement accuracy.
- 5Perform first article inspections on new or modified parts, reporting deviations.
- 6Support root cause analysis of dimensional non-conformances with statistical process control.
- 7Assist in developing and updating inspection procedures and work instructions.
- 8Coordinate with suppliers on part quality issues and verification of corrective actions.
Requirements8
- 11+ years experience in dimensional inspection or quality control in manufacturing.
- 2Proficiency with CMM programming and operation, including PC-DMIS software.
- 3Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- 4Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- 5Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- 6Familiarity with SPC and quality data analysis.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- 86+ months hands-on experience in automotive or similar industry.
Salary Insight
$42 - $48k per year
