Overview

You will own the full Dietary Department at Willow Creek Lodge, directing daily operations for a skilled nursing facility with 100+ residents. You will report to the Administrator and work with a consulting Dietitian, coordinating with Nursing, Housekeeping, and Social Services. You will build menus, manage a team of dietary staff, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This role offers the autonomy to implement your own systems and the support of a collaborative team.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Own the daily operations of the Dietary Department, including menu planning, food preparation, and service for all residents.
  • 2Direct and supervise dietary staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • 3Build and maintain a recipe file and ensure all menus meet dietary needs and physician orders.
  • 4Inspect food storage, utility closets, and kitchen areas to maintain cleanliness and supply control.
  • 5Coordinate with nursing and other departments to process diet changes and new resident admissions.
  • 6Prepare the department budget for food, equipment, and labor, and submit to the Administrator for approval.
  • 7Lead and document quality assurance activities, including resident meal satisfaction surveys and corrective action plans.
  • 8Represent the department during state and federal surveys, and develop and implement plans of correction.
  • 9Ensure all dietary staff complete required compliance training and maintain certifications.
  • 10Assist in discharge planning by coordinating dietary services for residents transitioning out.

Requirements10

  • 12+ years supervisory experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
  • 2High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager credential required.
  • 4Associate's degree in food service management or hospitality preferred.
  • 5Training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy required.
  • 6Knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes required.
  • 7Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • 8Must pass a tuberculosis screening upon hire.
  • 9Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and pushing/pulling carts.
  • 10Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and be on call as needed.
