Dietary Aide, Assisted Living
Overview
You will own meal service and dining support for 120+ residents at Charter Senior Living of Hermitage. You work with a tight-knit Dining Services team to deliver nutritious meals and a warm, respectful experience. What You'll Do8
- 1Serve meals and beverages to residents with a smile, ensuring each dining experience feels personal and unhurried.
- 2Set up and break down dining areas, including tables, utensils, and beverage stations, before and after each meal.
- 3Assist the cook with basic food prep such as chopping vegetables, portioning desserts, and filling condiment containers.
- 4Deliver tray service to residents who cannot make it to the dining room, checking on their comfort and needs.
- 5Monitor resident well-being during meals, noting any changes in appetite or behavior and reporting them to the care team.
- 6Clean and sanitize dining surfaces, carts, and equipment following infection control guidelines.
- 7Support the Dining Services Manager with inventory counts and restocking supplies to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
- 8Engage residents in friendly conversation, learning their preferences and honoring their life stories.
Requirements7
- 11+ year experience in food service or assisted living, with a passion for serving older adults.
- 2Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 30 pounds, including frequent transporting of residents in wheelchairs.
- 3Capacity to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for up to 8 hours with scheduled breaks.
- 4Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and respond to resident needs.
- 5Commitment to following safe food handling and universal precaution protocols.
- 6High school diploma or equivalent; ServSafe certification a plus.
- 7Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
