What You'll Do7

  • 1Diagnose diesel engine issues using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools on heavy-duty equipment.
  • 2Repair and maintain trucks, excavators, cranes, and forklifts including brakes, air brakes, and hydraulics.
  • 3Replace critical components like shocks and struts, wheel alignments, and HVAC systems.
  • 4Fabricate parts with welding and soldering equipment to meet specific repair needs.
  • 5Document all service work and ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specs.
  • 6Assemble and disassemble equipment during major repairs, using proper lifting tools.
  • 7Explain repairs to clients to ensure satisfaction and trust in your work.

Requirements6

  • 15+ years experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician in a fleet or dealership environment.
  • 2Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • 3Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools and schematics for troubleshooting.
  • 4Skilled in welding and soldering with power tools.
  • 5Familiarity with operating excavators or cranes preferred.
  • 6Ability to perform tire service, wheel alignments, brake repairs, and HVAC servicing.
