Diagnostic Specialist, Genetic Testing & Rare Disease
Overview
You own genetic testing education for healthcare providers across the Appalachia region, driving awareness and adoption of sponsored programs for inherited retinal diseases. You partner with cross-functional teams at EVERSANA and our client to align diagnostic strategy with regional needs. You build trusted relationships with KOLs, labs, and HCPs, delivering expert education on IRD gene panels and test requisition best practices. This field-based role requires extensive travel and deep diagnostic acumen in rare disease.
What You'll Do8
- 1Educate HCPs on genetic testing initiatives and sponsored programs, tailoring education to identified needs in the IRD community.
- 2Build compliant partnerships with cross-functional client teams to execute the U.S. diagnostic strategy.
- 3Identify and engage Genetic Testing KOLs, providing awareness and education to elevate testing standards.
- 4Attend conferences to stay current on diagnostic programs and emerging testing technologies.
- 5Deliver high-quality education to HCPs and partner labs, ensuring seamless sponsored testing utilization.
- 6Provide expertise on IRD gene panels and best practices for test requisition forms, reducing errors and delays.
- 7Support advocacy and outreach with local organizations, expanding the reach of genetic testing education.
- 8Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions and decisions.
Requirements10
- 1BA/BS required; healthcare degree strongly preferred (MS, RN, PA, PharmD, PhD).
- 27+ years in pharma/biotech commercial, clinical/medical, or diagnostics roles.
- 3Proven success working in high-performing, diverse teams.
- 4Experience collaborating with KOLs, labs, and internal/external stakeholders.
- 5Prior experience in rare or ultra-rare diseases with strong patient focus preferred.
- 6Diagnostic and scientific acumen with strategic thinking and operational capability.
- 7Ability to succeed in matrixed environments with persistence and resilience.
- 8Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- 9Cross-functional capability and strong ethical standards.
- 10Knowledge of ophthalmology strongly preferred.
