What You'll Do10
- 1Welcome patients into the treatment area and make them feel comfortable
- 2Discuss the dental care plan with patients and answer any questions they have
- 3Prep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and procedures
- 4Take vital signs and accurately record medical histories
- 5Perform preliminary exams and collect oral health histories
- 6Evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection
- 7Remove plaque and apply fluoride treatments
- 8Teach good oral hygiene techniques
- 9Create dental impressions and take X-rays
- 10Assist dentist during procedures and exams
Requirements6
- 1Associate's Degree from a school certified by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, Bachelor's or Master's preferred
- 2Current Dental Hygienist licensure
- 31-2 years of experience in dental hygiene
- 4Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
- 5Able to stand for extended periods and bend repeatedly
- 6Excellent communication and customer service skills
