What You'll Do10
- 1Deliver dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy to patients, focusing on preventive care and maintenance plans.
- 2Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the impact of diet and lifestyle on dental health, using intraoral cameras and digital x-rays.
- 3Document patient medical histories, dental screenings, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
- 4Perform cancer screenings with Velscope and caries detection with Diagnodent during routine exams.
- 5Collaborate with dentists and the care team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- 6Maintain sterilization and infection control standards, ensuring a safe and comfortable clinical environment.
- 7Participate in continuing education sessions and mentorship programs to expand clinical skills and stay current with industry practices.
- 8Manage patient flow to stay on schedule, providing exceptional patient experiences that build trust and loyalty.
- 9Assist with periodontal charting and treatment planning for patients with advanced gum disease.
- 10Support the office team with X-ray acquisition and digital scanning for restorative and cosmetic procedures.
Requirements9
- 1Current dental hygienist license in Washington State and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required).
- 2Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, patient screening, and medical history documentation.
- 3CPR Certification from an accredited provider.
- 41+ years of clinical experience in a dental office setting (new graduates encouraged to apply).
- 5Proficiency with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems.
- 6Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
- 7Availability to attend virtual training sessions periodically throughout the year.
- 8Pass a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of the pre-employment process (not applicable in FL & TN).
- 9Commitment to ongoing learning and clinical skill development to meet patient needs.
