Overview

As a DCF Certified Teacher, you will own daily instruction and care for a classroom of 8-12 children aged 0-5 at a licensed early learning center in Miami. You will implement DCF-mandated curricula while building a safe, nurturing environment that meets state standards. You will partner with a team of 3-5 educators and report directly to the center director. Your certification and training will be fully utilized from day one, with ongoing DCF professional development included.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Design and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans that align with DCF early learning standards for your assigned classroom.
  • 2Lead circle time, art, music, and sensory activities to foster cognitive and social development in children aged 0-5.
  • 3Maintain a clean, hazard-free classroom that complies with DCF licensing requirements and safety regulations.
  • 4Track each child's developmental milestones using DCF observation tools and share progress with parents.
  • 5Supervise children during meals, naps, and outdoor play, ensuring proper ratios and active engagement.
  • 6Administer basic first aid and follow emergency procedures as outlined by DCF guidelines.
  • 7Communicate daily with parents about activities, meals, and any incidents, using a DCF-approved communication app.
  • 8Attend monthly DCF in-service trainings to stay current on state child care regulations and best practices.

Requirements6

  • 1DCF 40-hour introductory child care training completed (or ability to complete within 90 days of hire).
  • 21+ year experience working in a licensed childcare facility or preschool.
  • 3High school diploma or equivalent; CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • 4Background check clearance through FDLE and FBI fingerprinting as mandated by DCF.
  • 5Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods during classroom and playground supervision.
  • 6Valid Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) or willingness to obtain.
