Cylinder Maintenance Technician, Liquid Cylinder Repair
Overview
You will own the rehabilitation and repair of Liquid Cylinder tanks at Airgas's Whites Creek facility in Nashville, TN. From receiving and inspecting to NER testing and polishing, you will drive each unit through the repair cycle to shipping-ready condition. You will work with a team of technicians and report to the LCR supervisor, following LCR rehab manuals and federal HHM regulations. What You'll Do10
- 1Receive and inspect incoming Liquid Cylinders for damage and service needs.
- 2Remove old signage and prepare tank surfaces for repair.
- 3Perform NER testing on each cylinder and document results.
- 4Polish tanks to specification and install new decals.
- 5Follow LCR rehab manuals and federal HHM regulations for all repairs.
- 6Maintain liquid cylinders and manage warehouse and forklift tasks.
- 7Operate a forklift safely and maintain required certifications.
- 8Identify and communicate problems to supervisors, submitting inspection reports promptly.
- 9Keep the facility clean and organized, following all safety policies including PPE use.
- 10Attend safety meetings and commit to a drug-free workplace.
Requirements10
- 11+ years in a maintenance or repair role, with experience using hand tools.
- 2Ability to operate a forklift and maintain appropriate certifications.
- 3Proficient math skills to calculate units of measure.
- 4Basic computer skills or willingness to take classes.
- 5Ability to read and interpret safety instructions, technical procedures, and MSDS.
- 6Comfort working outdoors in a range of temperatures and occasional overtime.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 8Ability to understand piping and tank detail from manuals and mechanical drawings.
- 9Experience with cryogenic gases and systems, or high pressure piping/tubing work a plus.
- 10Experience in HVAC or plumbing with hands-on welding/brazing skill a plus.
