Overview
As an LDAR Technician I at HPC-Industrial, you will own fugitive emissions detection at a Houston refinery or chemical plant, identifying and tagging gas leaks from valves and pumps to ensure EPA compliance. You will operate Toxic Vapor Analyzers (Method 21) and Optical Gas Imaging cameras, documenting findings in LeakDAS or GuideWare databases. What You'll Do6
- 1Perform routine inspections of components like valves, connectors, and pumps using Toxic Vapor Analyzers and OGI cameras to detect VOC leaks.
- 2Operate, calibrate, and maintain Flame Ionization Detectors to ensure accurate readings during field surveys.
- 3Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory in LeakDAS or GuideWare.
- 4Adhere to 40 CFR Subpart 60 regulations and site-specific safety protocols during every inspection.
- 5Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify completed repairs to reduce emissions.
- 6Engage in physical work, including lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders up to 300 ft, and walking long distances in industrial settings.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Valid driver's license.
- 3TWIC preferred.
- 410 Hour OSHA training and confined space entry certification preferred.
- 5Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
- 6Must wear protective gear including Nomex coveralls, rubber boots, and a fresh air breathing mask.
- 7Ability to work in extreme climates (heat index 95°F+, 98% humidity, subzero conditions).
- 8Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
