Overview
This is a remote, hourly contract role for senior cybersecurity professionals to design evaluation tasks for AI systems used in security operations, incident response, and risk management. You'll create scenarios, reference outputs, and scoring rubrics that capture how top security leaders actually make decisions. The work spans two tracks — a US track based on NIST CSF and SOC 2, and an international track aligned to ISO 27001 and the EU NIS2 Directive — and you can contribute to either or both. It's a unique opportunity to shape how AI is tested for real-world security judgment, with pay at $80–$90 per hour.
What You'll Do5
- 1Design realistic cybersecurity scenarios across areas like security operations center monitoring, incident response, digital forensics, vulnerability management, and security architecture.
- 2Build tasks that cover threat detection, incident response, penetration testing, security engineering, and governance/risk/compliance workflows.
- 3Develop scenarios using enterprise tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Qualys, and common GRC platforms.
- 4Apply methodologies like threat modeling, incident response playbooks, and risk assessment to produce reference incident reports, security assessments, architecture designs, and compliance documentation aligned to the target standard.
- 5Write rubrics that distinguish genuinely expert security judgment from generic textbook or certification-level responses.
Requirements4
- 15+ years of hands-on experience as a security engineer, security lead, or CISO at a major company or recognized security firm like Mandiant or CrowdStrike.
- 2Proven ownership of incident response programs, security architecture, or compliance initiatives in an enterprise environment.
- 3Deep familiarity with security tooling, regulatory frameworks, and the current threat landscape, plus fluency in at least one of the two tracks (US or international).
- 4A professional credential such as CISSP or CISM (or an international equivalent) is strongly preferred; prior experience writing rubrics or training content is a plus.
