
Cyber Security Research Consultant
Overview
You will own cyber security research initiatives at a large financial client, delivering threat intelligence that shapes security strategy. Working within a team of security analysts and engineers, you will analyze attack patterns, assess vulnerabilities, and produce actionable reports. What You'll Do8

- 2Design and execute security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in AWS and Azure environments.
- 3Build automated data collection pipelines using Python and Splunk to monitor threat intelligence feeds.
- 4Lead incident response investigations for security breaches, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- 5Develop and maintain security metrics dashboards in PowerBI to track threat trends and risk levels.
- 6Collaborate with engineering to harden cloud infrastructure against advanced persistent threats.
- 7Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders, translating complex technical details into business impact.
- 8Write comprehensive threat intelligence reports and white papers for internal and external distribution.
Requirements7
- 15+ years in cyber security research, threat intelligence, or incident response.
- 23+ years experience with security tools such as Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight.
- 3Strong proficiency in Python or PowerShell for automation and data analysis.
- 4Hands-on experience with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- 5Knowledge of network protocols, encryption, and security frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.
- 6Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC preferred.
- 7Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
