Custodian Crewman II, Commercial Cleaning & Sanitation
Overview
You will own daily cleaning and sanitation for all City of Webster buildings, covering 30,000+ square feet of offices, restrooms, kitchens, and conference rooms. You will join a Public Works team of 5 custodians and report to the Facilities Supervisor. Your work keeps city operations safe and presentable for employees and the public. What You'll Do9
- 1Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and break areas using commercial-grade disinfectants and EPA-registered chemicals.
- 2Empty trash bins and replace liners across all city buildings, directing waste to the compactor.
- 3Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors daily, maintaining hard surfaces with auto-scrubbers and burnishers.
- 4Dust furniture, fixtures, and window sills, and clean interior glass to maintain a spotless appearance.
- 5Stock restrooms and supply closets with paper goods, soaps, and chemical dispensers.
- 6Clean stairwells and entryways, including traction mats and glass doors.
- 7Report maintenance issues to the Facilities Supervisor and assist with event setup and teardown.
- 8Complete daily checklists and log cleaning activities using digital work orders.
- 9Follow OSHA safety protocols for chemical handling and equipment operation.
Requirements8
- 16+ months of commercial custodial experience in offices, schools, or healthcare facilities.
- 2Valid Texas Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 3Demonstrated ability to safely operate buffers, extractors, and pressure washers.
- 4Working knowledge of MSDS and proper dilution of cleaning chemicals.
- 5Physical capability to lift 50 pounds, stand for 8 hours, and climb ladders.
- 6Clear communication skills to read labels, follow instructions, and write basic reports.
- 7Commitment to punctuality and reliability for 5:00 AM starts, with flexibility for event coverage.
- 8Eligibility to pass pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and background check.
