What You'll Do15
- 1Provide assistance to patients in achieving self sufficiency and positive treatment outcomes
- 2Help patients identify goals and solutions to problems using psychotherapy for mental disorders and substance abuse
- 3Assist patients develop skills and strategies to address their issues
- 4Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans toward achieving patient goals
- 5Demonstrate concern for short term and long term well being of individuals couples families groups organizations
- 6Supervise counseling interns and graduates of counseling programs
- 7Engage in program development advocacy research and program evaluation
- 8Maintain caseload provide individual and group treatment using evidence based practice
- 9Complete required paperwork promptly
- 10Develop and update client treatment plans and long term goals
- 11Be prepared for and attend all supervision sessions and team meetings
- 12Attend agency mandated training and other learning opportunities
- 13Use time efficiently and personally well organized
- 14Keep supervisor and director informed of progress and problems
- 15Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned
Requirements10
- 1Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and preferably one to two years experience
- 2Knowledge and ability to provide brief techniques such as crisis intervention and solution focused approaches
- 3Ability to provide long term approaches when treating chronic mental health disorders or disabilities
- 4Demonstrate concern for short term and long term well being of individuals couples families groups organizations
- 5Effective written verbal organizational interpersonal skills and computer literacy
- 6Knowledge of evidenced based practices
- 7Experience working with substance abuse mental health compromised health HIV Hepatitis C issues criminal justice child welfare HRA protocols reporting requirements
- 8Familiarity with OASAS and other regulatory agency regulations and written documentation requirements DSM and ICD codes
- 9Experience in individual and strong group counseling
- 10Vaccination requirement fully vaccinated against covid 19 prior to start date
