Overview

The Cost Analyst/Finance Coordinator leads the B1 direct material cost workstream to reduce costs for current production vehicles and parts. Working onsite as part of a four member team collaborating with buyer engineer cost engineer and finance coordinator. This is a 12 month contract opportunity with potential extension.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Validate commercial and technical savings ideas through business cases
  • 2Collaborate with cross functional team of four to size and ideate potential savings opportunities
  • 3Build supplier fact pack and negotiation strategies to drive direct material savings
  • 4Ensure adherence to savings governance documentation standards and approval requirements
  • 5Monitor progress to internal VCP targets and communicate status to leadership
  • 6Use should cost tools to understand and contest supplier quotes
  • 7Negotiate with suppliers using appropriate tools
  • 8Conduct make/buy studies and analyze inbound transport cost transformation cost impact
  • 9Assess effect of take rates and vehicle volume/mix on annual purchase value
  • 10Prepare financial reports for purchasing including flow through carryover and incremental values
  • 11Support product cost standard development and total production cost engineering

Requirements11

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Finance Economics or Accounting
  • 2Minimum five years of experience in purchasing finance product finance vehicle cost engineering or comparable analytical role
  • 3Proven ability to develop and defend financial business cases
  • 4Strong analytical skills interpreting complex data across multiple systems
  • 5High attention to detail focusing on data accuracy governance and process discipline
  • 6Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • 7Experience working in cross functional matrixed teams
  • 8Master’s degree preferred in Finance Economics Business Administration or Accounting
  • 9Automotive or manufacturing industry background
  • 10Understanding of commercial and technical savings concepts and cost reduction methodologies
  • 11Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast paced environment and develop creative problem solving approaches
