You'll work alongside managers and fellow cooks to ensure every plate meets therapeutic diet requirements. What You'll Do7
- 1Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals using batch cooking techniques and following production records to hit quality and temperature standards.
- 2Execute advance prep by pulling ingredients and organizing stations for upcoming service periods and high-volume weekend production.
- 3Maintain a clean kitchen, sanitizing surfaces and recording temperatures to meet health department standards.
- 4Sort, label, and rotate inventory to support food safety and minimize waste during service.
- 5Collaborate with managers and team members to meet operational goals and communicate supply needs in real time.
- 6Adapt recipes for therapeutic diets (low sodium, diabetic, renal) based on patient dietary orders.
- 7Operate kitchen equipment safely, including convection ovens, steamers, and tilting skillets.
Requirements8
- 11+ year foodservice experience in a high-volume culinary production environment.
- 2Knowledge of cooking methods, including short-order and batch cooking.
- 3Ability to read and follow recipes and pull sheets with precision.
- 4Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel for logging temperatures and inventory.
- 5Strong customer service skills for retail and patient interactions.
- 6Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, often overtime.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 8Food safety certification such as ServSafe preferred, but will train.
