Overview
As the Content Creator for WBFF FOX45, you own the production of news promos, show opens, and topicals that drive viewership for Baltimore's leading news operation. Partner with the Creative Services team and the News department to craft compelling on-air messaging. From concept to delivery, you direct talent, shoot in studio and field, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, all while maintaining brand voice across TV, digital, and radio. What You'll Do10
- 1Write, produce, shoot, and edit weekly news branding promos for TV and digital platforms.
- 2Write and edit daily news opens, with shooting as needed, to establish a strong brand presence.
- 3Collaborate with Creative Services on concepts and execution of branding promos, weekly franchise topicals, POPs, and POBs.
- 4Produce digital (OTT, CTV, Web, Social) and radio promos as assigned, expanding reach.
- 5Own the workflow from concept to delivery for all on-air elements, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- 6Maintain an idea bank for future promos, continuously feeding the creative pipeline.
- 7Partner with News and Creative Services to develop strategies that increase viewership.
- 8Ensure accurate on-air messaging by daily collaboration with creative news teams.
- 9Support station marketing through other on-air and outside media channels.
- 10Assist with station-sponsored events and work evening hours as needed.
Requirements14
- 12-4 years of experience in broadcast or video production, with on-air promotion experience a must.
- 2Demonstrated ability to write compelling promo copy that converts news content into marketing messages.
- 3Advanced non-linear editing with Adobe Premiere Pro is a must, plus Adobe Cloud (After Effects, Photoshop).
- 4Experience directing on-air talent in studio and field shoots.
- 5Advanced knowledge of Canon DSLR cameras, videography, motion graphics, and creative lighting.
- 6Strong communication skills to collaborate with newsroom personnel professionally.
- 7Extensive experience scripting and shooting both short and long-form content.
- 8A strong understanding of fundamental design, color, typography, and composition.
- 9Advanced knowledge of the post-production process, including media management and encoding to various formats.
- 10Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain digital assets, archives, and edit systems.
- 11Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- 12Interest in local news, government, and politics is helpful.
- 13Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment over 40 lbs.
- 14College degree in TV journalism, communication, or marketing is preferred.
