Construction Project Manager, Federal Projects & Government Construction
Overview
Lead federal construction programs at scale, guiding project teams through design reviews, cost estimation, and scheduling. Manage multiple sites from due diligence to project closeout, ensuring safety and quality at every step. You will partner with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver compliant, on-time, on-budget projects. What You'll Do10
- 1Build schedules, cost estimates, and project scopes for bidding with accurate budgets and timelines
- 2Lead subcontractor coordination and on-site supervision to meet safety and quality standards
- 3Influence design reviews, value engineering, and contract negotiations to control project scope and costs
- 4Drive pre-construction activities including estimating and value engineering for federal projects
- 5Own procurement, subcontract management, and change order negotiations with owners and subcontractors
- 6Manage field operations across multiple trades, ensuring alignment with project plans and safety requirements
- 7Coordinate field activities between ownership and the office to maintain clear communication
- 8Plan and manage all site activities by all sub-trades and ensure timely completion within budget
- 9Document and negotiate changes that affect project costs or completion with stakeholders
- 10Provide leadership to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and interns to meet contract milestones
Requirements10
- 110+ years of construction project management experience with federal projects
- 2Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- 4Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines and lead multiple projects
- 6Understanding of construction law and adherence to company policies
- 7Completion of OSHA 30-hour training
- 8Customer service orientation
- 9On-site, fully onsite DES PLAINES IL location
- 10Contract to hire position with salary range $34.00 - $62.50/hr
