What You'll Do11
- 1Lead direct coordinate ironworker crews in daily erection activities
- 2Plan work assignments sequencing and manpower to meet project schedules
- 3Train mentor develop crew members enforce accountability and performance standards
- 4Communicate clearly with project managers superintendents other trades
- 5Read and interpret construction drawings shop drawings specifications
- 6Oversee layout rigging hoisting connecting bolting welding structural steel components
- 7Ensure proper alignment plumbness fit-up of all members
- 8Coordinate crane operations material staging for efficient workflow
- 9Promote and enforce strong safety culture conduct daily safety meetings toolbox talks job hazard analyses
- 10Ensure all work meets project specifications tolerances quality standards
- 11Monitor productivity adjust crew activities stay on schedule maintain clean organized work areas
Requirements11
- 1Experience 5+ years structural steel or ironworking required
- 2Proven ability lead crews on structural steel erection projects preferred
- 3Strong ability read interpret blueprints erection drawings
- 4Solid understanding rigging crane signaling steel erection methods
- 5Working knowledge OSHA standards jobsite safety practices
- 6Effective leadership communication problem solving skills
- 7Ability work under tight deadlines changing jobsite conditions
- 8Certifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 rigging signaling certification
- 9First Aid CPR
- 10Physical ability work at heights varying weather heavy materials frequent climbing standing bending
- 11Work outdoor construction sites exposure weather noise heavy equipment high risk environment strict safety procedures PPE
