Construction Door Hardware Technician - Indianapolis
Overview
You will own the picking, packing, shipping, and receiving of commercial door hardware in our Indianapolis warehouse, processing 75+ lb materials and managing high-volume orders for multi-family construction projects. You will coordinate daily with Purchasing Agents, Shipping Managers, and Project Managers to keep job sites on schedule. Your attention to detail and process-oriented mindset will drive accuracy in every order. You will also key locks and process house-packs for residential builders. This role reports to the Hardware Department Manager and demands a proactive problem-solver who embodies our core values: Own It, Work as One Team, Find a Way, and Play to Win.
What You'll Do10
- 1Check in received product against purchase orders, then stage and stock it accurately.
- 2Pull and stage material for shipments, verifying every item against the order.
- 3Verify product ship dates with suppliers and track order status to meet deadlines.
- 4Read door schedules and mark door numbers and hardware for shipments.
- 5Process house-packs, including keying locks, for residential builders.
- 6Key and core locks as required for commercial and residential projects.
- 7Respond promptly and professionally via email, phone, or in person to internal and external questions about stock and job staging.
- 8Assist the Hardware Department Manager in maintaining the Production Report status.
- 9Perform hardware check-ins on job sites per customer request.
- 10Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and workspace at all times.
Requirements9
- 11+ years experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably with door hardware or building materials.
- 2Forklift certified (desired but not required).
- 3Ability to lift heavy material (75+ lbs) safely and consistently.
- 4Accurate processing of high-detail tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- 5Process-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
- 6Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to solve problems independently.
- 7Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- 8Required experience using a computer with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- 9Exhibit dedication, a positive attitude, and professionalism in all interactions.
Salary Insight
