Overview

You will own daily service delivery for commercial waste customers at Waste Pro, supervising drivers and ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective operations. You will lead a team of drivers, manage route productivity, and enforce safety protocols across a high-volume route network. You will work closely with dispatch, sales, and municipal contacts to resolve issues and maintain customer satisfaction. This role offers a quarterly bonus of up to $3,500 and the chance to apply Decision Driving principles in a safety-focused culture. What You'll Do10

  • 1Supervise drivers and daily operations, including pre and post trip inspections, and communicate key service points and safety issues.
  • 2Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment, enforcing company policies and safety guidelines.
  • 3Route new service starts, review productivity reports, and reroute non-performing routes to maximize efficiency and minimize labor costs.
  • 4Follow routes to ensure Distinguishably Different service, respond to dispatch calls, and address customer issues and complaints.
  • 5Perform route observations to ensure safety procedures, corral condition, can sanitation, and truck appearance meet standards.
  • 6Monitor driver pre-trip inspections, address findings, and coordinate with shop manager on truck repairs.
  • 7Track driver time, attendance, route sheets, and compliance with DOT hours of service and company regulations.
  • 8Complete accident and injury reports, respond to investigations, and manage workers' compensation and property damage claims.
  • 9Train and orient new employees, conduct performance evaluations, and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
  • 10Ensure front loaders are cleaned daily, drive routes to cover shortages, and assist drivers behind schedule.

Requirements10

  • 13-5 years experience in transportation, management, logistics, or waste industry, or an Associate's degree with 2 years in solid waste operations.
  • 2Knowledge and prior application of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles.
  • 3Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • 4Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • 5Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and related federal, state, and local regulations.
  • 6Valid Class A or B commercial driver's license (or ability to obtain within 3 months), with a driving record meeting company standards.
  • 7Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven customer service skills.
  • 8Ability to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems.
  • 9Flexibility to work weekends and be available by phone for operational issues.
  • 10Maintain a positive attitude towards staff and customers; knowledge of first aid preferred.
