Overview
Own the prep-to-paint flow at a Tesla Collision Repair Program in Dallas, Texas. You'll sand, mask, and prime vehicles so they deliver on schedule and show flawless paint. Work nights alongside a tight-knit paint team, moving from disassembly to final buff. This role is for a meticulous hands-on builder who takes pride in a showroom finish.
What You'll Do7
- 1Remove grease, dirt, paint, and rust from surfaces using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, and sandblasters
- 2Fill small dents and scratches with body fillers, then smooth surfaces to spec
- 3Support the painter with pre-paint blending so colors match perfectly
- 4Help the paint team hit production deadlines by keeping prep work on track
- 5Buff and wax finished paint to a high-gloss, defect-free shine
- 6Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment
- 7Detail finished vehicles for customer delivery, including final wipe-down and inspection
Requirements8
- 1Prior experience in vehicle paint process, ideally in collision repair
- 21+ years handling abrasives, solvents, and paint prep tools
- 3I-CAR certifications a plus, but not required
- 4Valid driver's license preferred
- 5Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts
- 6Comfortable in hot, cold, wet, or humid shop conditions
- 7Takes direction well and communicates with a tight-knit crew
- 8Available for night shift in Dallas, Texas, onsite
