Overview
You will own the Boston territory for W.W. Norton & Company, driving adoption of textbooks and courseware across undergraduate humanities, sciences, and social sciences. You will build relationships with 10-15 professors per campus visit, consulting on teaching challenges and demonstrating solutions. As part of a mission-driven, employee-owned publisher, you will collaborate with a supportive team and receive mentorship from experienced reps. What You'll Do8
- 1Build relationships with 10-15 professors on each campus visit by assessing teaching challenges and recommending Norton materials.
- 2Drive revenue growth for textbooks and courseware within the Boston territory by increasing adoption rates.
- 3Execute cold calls and scheduled appointments with faculty to present new titles and revised editions.
- 4Develop strategic territory plans with sales management to prioritize high-opportunity accounts.
- 5Track sales activities and progress using Salesforce CRM, documenting customer interactions and outcomes.
- 6Provide ongoing support to instructors who adopt Norton materials, ensuring effective use.
- 7Collaborate with colleagues on cross-functional initiatives to advance priority sales opportunities.
- 8Represent Norton at national and regional conferences, networking with educators and staying current on trends.
Requirements8
- 1BA/BS degree and valid driver's license.
- 2employment eligibility to work in the US.
- 3Ability to travel by car and airplane, with 20% overnight travel.
- 4Residence within or near the Boston territory, or willingness to relocate.
- 5Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- 6Proven success in sales, marketing, editing, teaching, or customer-facing roles.

Salary Insight
