CNC Maintenance Technician, Aerospace Machining
Overview
You own uptime for CNC lathes, mills, and grinders at a leading aerospace manufacturer serving Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman. This role pairs 5+ years of maintenance expertise with hands-on work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You troubleshoot failures in 480V power, VFDs, and PLCs, and you coordinate with production and engineering to keep mission-critical parts flowing. Expect to own preventative maintenance schedules and drive lasting repairs in a high-stakes environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to prevent unplanned downtime.
- 2Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- 3Install, relocate, level, and align new and existing machines, then calibrate them to exact tolerances.
- 4Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to guide complex repairs.
- 5Monitor spare parts inventory and place orders to keep critical components in stock.
- 6Enforce safety protocols including lockout/tagout and PPE standards during all maintenance work.
- 7Partner with production and engineering teams to prioritize repairs and improve machine reliability.
- 8Support facility maintenance and lean manufacturing projects as needed.
- 9Document all maintenance actions and service records to track machine health.
Requirements9
- 15+ years maintaining CNC equipment in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- 2Strong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting skills.
- 3Proficiency with electrical test equipment like multimeters and experience with 480V three-phase power, VFDs, and PLCs.
- 4Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- 5Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, and Okuma machine controls.
- 6Ability to read technical documents, schematics, and blueprints.
- 7High school diploma or GED required; technical training in industrial maintenance or mechatronics is a significant plus.
- 8Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government trade regulations.
- 9Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in varied positions.
