Overview

Set up and operate CNC machines to fabricate metallic parts for aerospace applications. You'll work 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week, in a ISO 9001/AS9100 certified facility. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Programmers to resolve machining issues. This role offers clear growth paths from Machinist I to III, with pay up to $40/hour.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations for each job.
  • 2Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and jig borers, selecting and aligning holding fixtures and cutting tools.
  • 3Calculate and set machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and cut depth, or input commands to CNC control media.
  • 4Run trial pieces to verify machine settings and program accuracy, then adjust controls to maintain tight tolerances.
  • 5Inspect finished parts with precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance to aerospace blueprints.
  • 6Document setup and operation details with sketches, photos, and written notes to maintain accurate job records.
  • 7Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Programmers to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • 8Maintain cleanliness and care for machines and tools, following ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management procedures.

Requirements8

  • 12+ years of experience in CNC machining or a related field.
  • 2Proven ability to read and interpret aerospace blueprints, work orders, and maintenance instructions.
  • 3Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • 4Capability to use basic hand tools and perform mathematical calculations for machining.
  • 5Physical stamina to stand or sit for 10-hour shifts and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • 6Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (citizen, green card holder, refugee, or asylee).
  • 7Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • 8Commitment to quality and safety standards, including ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance.
