Overview
Primus Aerospace seeks a CNC Lathe Production Team Lead to oversee manufacturing operations at their Lakewood facility. The role involves managing production personnel processes quality control safety ISO documentation and shipping. What You'll Do11
- 1Oversee daily CNC lathe production ensuring orders are completed on time within cost and to quality standards
- 2Set up and operate CNC lathes verifying router drawings and programs for accuracy
- 3Provide reliable setups instructions and tooling support to operators monitoring cycle times scrap rates and part quality
- 4Lead and motivate the machinist team by setting goals delegating tasks and fostering open communication
- 5Train coach and evaluate employees supporting hiring performance management and disciplinary actions
- 6Promote Lean manufacturing 5S safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
- 7Manage standardized work practices shop floor organization and care of equipment
- 8Collaborate with programming and operations teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- 9Drive process improvements risk management and knowledge sharing across the department
- 10Support team development through training programs feedback and team-building activities
- 11Perform additional tasks as required
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of machining experience
- 2Ability to set up CNC lathes
- 3Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing print reading and mathematics and manufacturing processes
- 4MS Office knowledge especially Excel
- 5Excellent communication skills both verbal and written strong aptitude for organization and time management
- 6Ability to delegate tasks thorough attention to detail capacity to analyze and problem solve
- 7Proven ability to lead and drive employee engagement and accountability
- 8Knowledge of performance metrics
- 9Experience and confidence in making decisions high self-initiative with ability to work well under pressure
- 10Preferred experience decreasing turnaround times ability to streamline work processes understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100
