CNA IMAP Unit Nights Denver Health
Overview
You will provide direct patient care on a specialized 12-bed IMAP unit, supporting adults with complex medical conditions and co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses. You will partner with RNs and LPNs to deliver integrated medical and behavioral care in a 1:6 staffing ratio. This role combines medical monitoring with psychiatric support, offering hands-on experience in both fields. You will also document care, transport patients, and maintain unit supplies. This position is ideal for a CNA seeking growth in integrated care.
What You'll Do10
- 1Provide a safe environment for all patients, ensuring proper positioning and care throughout their stay.
- 2Assist the RN/LPN in carrying out the established plan of care for assigned patients.
- 3Practice sound safety and infection control per hospital policy and procedures.
- 4Obtain vital signs, differentiating normal from abnormal findings, and report abnormal values to the RN/LPN.
- 5Participate as a patient care team member by asking for tasks or helping others when not busy.
- 6Accurately gather information and perform data entry, including EPIC documentation.
- 7Transport patients and deliver lab specimens, blood products, medications, and other items via the pneumatic tube system.
- 8Document the Plan of Care, ensuring information is properly transcribed and complete.
- 9Implement care based on prioritized patient needs in coordination with the RN/LPN.
- 10Participate in discharge planning and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements10
- 1CNA certification from DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) required.
- 2BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross required.
- 3Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- 4Skill in using medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- 5Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- 6Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- 7Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- 8Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- 9Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required; EPIC documentation experience preferred.
- 10No high school diploma or GED required.
