
CMM Programmer, Aerospace & Gas Turbine Inspection
Overview
Own the development and optimization of CMM inspection programs for aerospace and gas turbine components at scale. Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to ensure precision measurements meet stringent industry standards. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and optimize CMM inspection programs for complex turbine and aero-structures using CMM software and metrology best practices
- 2Design measurement strategies that achieve first-pass yield targets and reduce inspection cycle time by delivering robust verification routines
- 3Ship detailed inspection plans and generate actionable data to support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- 4Own on-site execution of measurement plans, ensuring equipment calibration, data integrity, and traceability
- 5Scale metrology processes by documenting procedures, training operators, and maintaining equipment readiness with CMM hardware and software
- 6Drive continuous improvement by collecting metric data, analyzing trends, and implementing process enhancements
- 7Debug measurement discrepancies and implement containment actions to prevent rework or scrap
- 8Lead collaboration with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to align inspection programs with part tolerance requirements
- 9Provide accurate reporting and documentation for aerospace-quality compliance and customer audits
- 10Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in a high-precision metrology environment
Requirements9
- 1Proven experience as a CMM Programmer in aerospace or gas turbine environments
- 2Hands-on programming and operation of CMMs in a manufacturing setting
- 3Strong knowledge of metrology standards, GD&T, and aerospace quality systems
- 4Ability to develop and optimize inspection programs that meet strict tolerance requirements
- 5On-site availability for a long-term contract in San Diego, CA
- 6Experience with CMM software suites (e.g., PC-DMIS, VERICUS, or equivalent) and calibration processes
- 7Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
