What You'll Do11
- 1Apply advanced knowledge of pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics to evaluate patient therapies and identify drug-related problems
- 2Consult with physicians to clarify complex outpatient prescriptions and ensure appropriate therapeutic outcomes
- 3Provide direct patient education on medication usage storage and potential side effects
- 4Supervise pharmacy technicians students and volunteers ensuring high standards of clinical practice
- 5Operate automated dispensing equipment to package and label medications accurately
- 6Maintain professional standards and regulatory compliance when dispensing controlled substances
- 7Collaborate with electronic health record systems to access patient laboratory results and medical histories
- 8Lead pharmacy operations when no supervising pharmacist is present
- 9Contribute to pharmacy publications and participate in staff development initiatives
- 10Analyze cost efficiency and workflow improvements within the pharmacy department
- 11Serve as pharmacist-in-charge for team coordination and patient care continuity
Requirements12
- 1United States Citizenship required for all applicants
- 2Full current pharmacy license in a state territory or DC
- 3Graduate degree from ACPE accredited pharmacy school with BS or Pharm.D.
- 4Valid driver's license or state ID meeting REAL ID standards
- 5English proficiency demonstrated through standardized testing
- 6Background check and security clearance clearance
- 7Minimum 3 years outpatient clinical pharmacy experience
- 8Experience with Spark Airflow and other pharmacy technology systems
- 9Ability to work Monday Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- 10Commitment to participating in mandatory influenza vaccination program
- 11Trial period of 1-2 years before permanent assignment
- 12Preference given to veterans and transitioning service members
