Overview

You will own patient census growth for a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in Indianapolis. You evaluate referrals, educate medical staff, and drive admissions across the territory. You join a top-5 post-acute care system with an employee-owned culture. This role pairs clinical expertise with relationship building, making a direct impact on patient access to specialized care.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Evaluate referred patients for admission to determine medical appropriateness and level of care needed.
  • 2Educate hospital staff and community providers about LTAC services and patient criteria through scheduled meetings and presentations.
  • 3Drive daily to referral sources and potential referral sources in Indianapolis area hospitals to build and maintain relationships.
  • 4Collaborate with Admission Coordinators and Administrators to facilitate smooth patient transfers and admission processes.
  • 5Track and report performance metrics using the Admit-Referral report to achieve individual census targets.
  • 6Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical protocols and payer requirements to ensure accurate assessments.
  • 7Document patient evaluations and communications in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Requirements7

  • 1Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • 21-2 years of related clinical experience in a LTAC, acute care, or similar setting.
  • 3Valid Indiana state driver's license and reliable transportation for daily travel.
  • 4BLS Certification required.
  • 5Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • 6Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex clinical information.
  • 7Ability to interpret and explain clinical data to non-clinical stakeholders.
