Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Molecular Microbiology & Bacteriology
Overview
A Clinical Laboratory Scientist will join a high volume reference lab team supporting Kaiser Permanente in North Hollywood. You will work with Molecular, Bacteriology, and Microbiology to perform automated and manual testing and report results accurately. You will collaborate with clinicians and lab leadership to optimize test utilization and ensure regulatory compliance. This role offers a pathway for new graduates to gain practical experience in a dynamic onsite setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform complex automated and manual clinical laboratory tests in microbiology and related sections to support patient care
- 2Report results accurately and timely to internal teams and physicians
- 3Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of laboratory operations
- 4Independently manage quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and instrument maintenance to ensure compliance
- 5Troubleshoot equipment and test methodologies in a fast paced clinical environment
- 6Consult with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and leadership on test utilization, methodology, and interpretation
- 7Participate in shift coverage monday through friday with potential weekend when needed
- 8Maintain documentation, records, and regulatory compliance across procedures
- 9Assist in onboarding new staff and training interns or new graduates
- 10Ensure safety and calibration schedules are followed to maintain instrument performance
Requirements6
- 1Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- 2Proficiency in laboratory, chemistry, and medical laboratory procedures
- 3Available to work Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm OR 3pm-11:30pm, weekend work when needed
- 4Experience in one of the following specialties is required: Molecular, Bacteriology, and Microbiology
- 5Contract to Hire role based out of NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA
- 6Must be able to work onsite in North Hollywood, CA
Salary Insight
$114 - $141k per year
