Overview
Reporting to the Microbiology Supervisor the microbiology Clinical Laboratory Scientist owns laboratory testing within the Microbiology section. This role involves performing pre analytical analytical and post analytical testing while ensuring quality control equipment maintenance and comprehensive reporting. The position requires independent problem solving minimal supervision and adherence to strict documentation standards.
What You'll Do9
- 1Process samples and handle transport accessioning and prenalytical processing
- 2Perform all aspects of laboratory testing following standard operating procedures
- 3Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly
- 4Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to quality control protocols
- 5Conduct daily Microbiology Quality Control and manage instrument maintenance logs
- 6Evaluate and work up microbiology cultures correlating biochemical and morphological results
- 7Perform parallel testing and assist with supply ordering and inventory management
- 8Maintain an organized and clean work environment
- 9Demonstrate proficiency with laboratory instruments and equipment
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor Degree in Science
- 2CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Clinical Microbiologist
- 31 year clinical laboratory experience including internship
- 4Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- 5Proficiency with computer systems
