What You'll Do11

  • 1Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to assess documentation quality and reimbursement compliance
  • 2Facilitate appropriate clinical documentation through close partnership with medical staff
  • 3Perform admission criteria documentation for selected admissions
  • 4Execute initial and extended-stay concurrent reviews across all admissions
  • 5Apply knowledge of care delivery documentation systems and medical record documents
  • 6Analyze age-specific patient needs and disease process elements
  • 7Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge of pathology and physiology
  • 8Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills along with critical thinking abilities
  • 9Develop effective relationships with physicians nurse staff and hospital management
  • 10Implement inpatient admission documentation processes independently within a time-oriented environment
  • 11Maintain proficiency with computer operations and basic office equipment

Requirements11

  • 1Medical Graduate PA or Nursing graduate required
  • 2Minimum three one plus years clinical experience in acute care settings
  • 3Knowledge of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents
  • 4Understanding of age-specific patient needs and disease process elements
  • 5Strong clinical knowledge of pathology and physiology
  • 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills with critical thinking abilities
  • 7Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
  • 8ECFMG Certificate or RN license preferred
  • 9Prior case management experience preferred
  • 10Working knowledge of Medicare reimbursement systems and coding structures
  • 11Current BCLS AHA certificate upon hire and ability to maintain certification
