What You'll Do10

  • 1Hire, evaluate, and terminate clinical staff, building a team that delivers compassionate hospice care.
  • 2Develop and implement clinical standards and policies that meet Medicare, Medicaid, and accreditation requirements.
  • 3Collaborate with the Executive Director to set staffing patterns and manage the departmental budget.
  • 4Coordinate interdisciplinary teams, ensuring each patient's plan of care is assessed, updated, and approved by physicians.
  • 5Lead the QAPI program, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
  • 6Serve as a clinical resource, providing staff support and managing job-related stress.
  • 7Oversee 24/7 on-call coverage and respond to crises, maintaining readiness at all times.
  • 8Ensure staff have necessary supplies and equipment, monitoring usage to prevent waste.
  • 9Conduct case conferences, in-services, and staff meetings, documenting all activities.
  • 10Partner with community agencies and represent the hospice in education projects.

Requirements9

  • 12+ years experience in Hospice or home care, with 1+ year in a supervisory role.
  • 2Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in Michigan.
  • 3Active patient contact within the past 3 years, preferred.
  • 4Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting 100+ pounds and tolerating exposure to bodily fluids.
  • 5Valid driver's license, auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • 6Pass annual TB test and other state-required exams.
  • 7Mental and emotional stability to cope with stress and make quick judgments.
  • 8Adaptability to diverse social, racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
  • 9Proven ability to respond to crises and supervise others effectively.
