Overview
The Civil Designer owns site development projects at scale, delivering civil design for roads, utilities, and drainage within multi-discipline teams. You will produce drawings for production work, analyze topographic data, and verify design codes and specifications. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to align schedules and budgets. What You'll Do10
- 1Build civil design drawings for site development, roads, utilities, and drainage systems using prescribed methods
- 2Design layout and perform calculations for non-routine assignments to support production work
- 3Execute design tasks with standard techniques, refining rough sketches and presenting drawings
- 4Make changes to ongoing project drawings and markups to reflect stakeholder feedback
- 5Analyze reports, maps, and geologic data to plan and design projects incorporating design codes
- 6Review design drawings for quality, scope, budget, and schedule compliance
- 7Report excavation, dredging, and upland site grading volumes and integrate with project criteria
- 8Revise project drawings and store project information in a structured manner
- 9Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to ensure alignment of schedules and budgets
- 10Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with 3 years of related experience, or an Associate degree with 5 years of related experience, or 9 years of progressive detailing and design experience
- 2Expert knowledge in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- 3Proficiency in Civil engineering and Civil 3D with site development and drafting experience
- 4Understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel
- 5Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 7Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline project team environment
- 8Onsite work in Kansas City, MO with contract to hire status
- 9Knowledge of design codes and specifications related to civil design
- 10Experience reviewing drawings for quality assurance within scope, budget, and schedule
