Chemical Wastewater Technician - 2nd Shift, Avionics
Overview
You will own daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring environmental compliance and safe handling of hazardous materials at an avionics leader in Lynwood, CA. Working on the 2nd shift (10 AM - 6:30 PM), you will monitor equipment, calibrate pH and ORP probes, and respond to spills. Your work directly impacts sustainability and regulatory adherence. What You'll Do8
- 1Monitor all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations, replacing equipment as needed.
- 2Operate, maintain, and repair malfunctions at the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring continuous operation.
- 3Calibrate, clean, and ensure proper function of pH and ORP probes and controllers.
- 4Collect, segregate, and transport hazardous waste from generation points to the hazardous waste storage area.
- 5Respond to hazardous waste spills in emergency situations and assist in environmental compliance throughout the facility.
- 6Maintain detailed logs of waste disposal and equipment performance.
- 7Coordinate with the operations team to meet shift production and compliance goals.
- 8Implement safety protocols and follow environmental regulations on every task.
Requirements7
- 1High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- 22+ years of experience in waste treatment and hazardous waste management.
- 3Ability to operate and maintain various types of equipment and instrumentation.
- 4Strong organizational skills to compile and maintain lists of hazardous waste needing disposal.
- 5Commitment to safety and compliance with environmental regulations.
- 6Attention to detail and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
