What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct visual audio olfactory tactile inspections of all plant machinery and equipment maintaining comprehensive logs of maintenance activities
- 2Perform routine chemical and physical assessments of raw sewage and water samples to validate treatment efficiency and regulatory compliance
- 3Repair overhaul and maintain diverse pumping heating ventilation process equipment including pumps conveyors and deodorizing systems
- 4Inspect sewage pipelines tanks and gates identifying blockages mineral deposits using drainage pressure flow monitoring and visual checks
- 5Manage solids treatment flocculating chemical systems through flow indicator adjustment and sample analysis
- 6Supervise apprentices demonstrating proper operation and maintenance techniques for sewage treatment processes
- 7Follow Stationary Engineer class specifications for comprehensive operational duties
- 8Ensure adherence to NPDES permit requirements through precise equipment testing and preventative maintenance protocols
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 4 years journey-level Stationary Engineer experience in wastewater treatment plant machinery operation and repair
- 2Valid driver's license and California wastewater operator certification
- 3Possession of Grade I California wastewater operator certificate or equivalent advanced training
- 4Demonstrated ability to work flexible shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- 5Strong mechanical electrical knowledge with hands-on experience in pump systems and related equipment
