We seek a journey-level Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain complex machinery at San Francisco International Airport sewage treatment plant. What You'll Do8

  • 1Conduct visual audio olfactory tactile inspections of all plant machinery and equipment maintaining comprehensive logs of maintenance activities
  • 2Perform routine chemical and physical assessments of raw sewage and water samples to validate treatment efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • 3Repair overhaul and maintain diverse pumping heating ventilation process equipment including pumps conveyors and deodorizing systems
  • 4Inspect sewage pipelines tanks and gates identifying blockages mineral deposits using drainage pressure flow monitoring and visual checks
  • 5Manage solids treatment flocculating chemical systems through flow indicator adjustment and sample analysis
  • 6Supervise apprentices demonstrating proper operation and maintenance techniques for sewage treatment processes
  • 7Follow Stationary Engineer class specifications for comprehensive operational duties
  • 8Ensure adherence to NPDES permit requirements through precise equipment testing and preventative maintenance protocols

Requirements5

  • 1Minimum 4 years journey-level Stationary Engineer experience in wastewater treatment plant machinery operation and repair
  • 2Valid driver's license and California wastewater operator certification
  • 3Possession of Grade I California wastewater operator certificate or equivalent advanced training
  • 4Demonstrated ability to work flexible shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
  • 5Strong mechanical electrical knowledge with hands-on experience in pump systems and related equipment
