Charge RN, Virtual Sitting Observation Program
Overview
You own the daily shift operations of the Virtual Sitting Observation (VSO) program at Psynergy Health, supervising remote patient safety observers and ensuring high-quality patient monitoring across multiple units. You provide clinical leadership to PSOs, serve as the primary escalation point for safety concerns, and collaborate directly with hospital nursing staff to maintain regulatory compliance. This role demands strong decision-making in patient prioritization, staffing coordination, and real-time troubleshooting with RN licensure and BLS certification. You will shape a culture of patient-centered care and directly influence quality outcomes in a growing virtual care model.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead daily shift operations for the Virtual Sitting Observation program, directing PSO and Lead PSO activities to ensure patient safety and compliance.
- 2Assess and prioritize patients requiring virtual observation, using clinical judgment to allocate resources based on acuity.
- 3Escalate patient safety concerns to hospital clinical staff and nursing leadership, coordinating immediate interventions.
- 4Coordinate staffing assignments and adjust workloads in real time, ensuring continuous monitoring coverage across shifts.
- 5Troubleshoot workflow issues and collaborate with IT to resolve virtual observation technology problems.
- 6Review PSO documentation and intervention logs, providing feedback to maintain quality and regulatory standards.
- 7Complete incident reports by end of shift, documenting any safety events or deviations.
- 8Coach and educate PSOs and Lead PSOs on clinical protocols, conducting competency assessments and performance evaluations.
- 9Participate in PSO hiring interviews and support onboarding to maintain a skilled observer team.
- 10Monitor quality indicators and improvement initiatives, reporting findings to the Nurse Manager and recommending process updates.
Requirements8
- 1Current RN license in good standing with the Florida Board of Nursing.
- 23-5 years of acute care nursing, virtual nursing, or virtual sitting experience.
- 3BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- 4Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 5Leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.
- 6Specialty certification (e.g., MED-SURG, CCRN) preferred.
- 7Ability to work onsite in Orlando, Florida, and manage shift operations.
- 8Strong clinical judgment and communication skills to coordinate with hospital teams.
