Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA - School-Based Contract
Overview
Deliver direct therapy services to students with diverse caseloads across a school district near Ellicott City, MD, on an 11-month contract. You will support student achievement by implementing IEP goals and collaborating with supervising OTs, educators, and families. This itinerant role includes paid travel between schools, dedicated admin time, and a supportive therapy team. The district emphasizes professional growth and may extend your contract or transition you to permanent placement after three months.
What You'll Do7
- 1Deliver therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs and treatment plans
- 2Collaborate with supervising OTs, educators, and families to ensure comprehensive student care
- 3Travel to assigned schools for itinerant assignments, with paid travel provided
- 4Document services and student progress within the district's IEP system
- 5Participate in team meetings and use admin time for planning and reporting
- 6Support students across multiple school settings, adapting interventions to individual needs
- 7Communicate progress and challenges to the supervising OT and school staff
Requirements5
- 1Valid Maryland license or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- 2Previous experience in school-based and/or healthcare OT settings preferred
- 3Familiarity with IEP documentation; training on district systems provided
