Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Developmental Disabilities
Overview
You will provide direct patient care to individuals with developmental disabilities across Los Angeles communities, including Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, Koreatown, Downtown LA, Lancaster, and Palmdale. You will coordinate with physicians and therapists to implement individualized care plans, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. CNA certification and CPR credentials anchor your practice. You will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to fostering independence and personal growth for participants. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for continuing education.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assist participants with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other hygiene tasks in community settings.
- 2Feed and hydrate participants, monitoring nutritional intake and reporting concerns.
- 3Support participant mobility, including transfers between chairs and wheelchairs, using proper body mechanics.
- 4Observe and report changes in participants' conditions to the direct supervisor promptly.
- 5Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare professionals to execute individualized care plans.
- 6Document daily activities accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- 7Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- 8Transport participants to appointments or community outings as needed, using reliable personal vehicle.
Requirements10
- 1Completion of a CNA training program with active certification.
- 21-3 years of CNA experience, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- 3Current CPR certification and First Aid certification.
- 4Strong understanding of basic patient care: hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance.
- 5Knowledge of daily living activities support and comfort/safety enhancement.
- 6Familiarity with common medical terminology.
- 7Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- 8Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- 9Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to high-quality support.
- 10Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance; willingness to travel to service locations.
