Overview
We seek a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to support the 125th Special Tactics Squadron in Portland, OR. The role involves injury prevention, acute care, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement for Special Operations Forces operators within a dynamic military human performance setting. What You'll Do11
- 1Provide HP services within the ATC's scope of practice as defined by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA)
- 2Develop rehabilitation protocols using screening information and build the unit's rehab system
- 3Perform patient tests and record findings to design or revise treatment programs
- 4Design and fabricate protective pads equipment and braces including taping techniques
- 5Maintain rehabilitation and pre-habilitation equipment such as sauna cryotherapy tanks and cupping tools
- 6Participate in HPP staff meetings to review care and identify improvements
- 7Document care in the Military's Electronic Health Record and collect reports as directed
- 8Attend required training and continue education with advance coordination
- 9Maintain physical proficiency to train alongside SOF in austere environments
- 10Hold current certification from the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
- 11Maintain CPR and AED certification
Requirements5
- 1Current certification by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
- 2Current CPR certification including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- 3Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited institution
- 45+ years of post-professional experience as an ATC at NCAA Division I Olympic professional or Special Operations level
- 5Additional credentials as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Sports Performance Coach
