Overview
Own the road as a CDL A Company Mentor, training new graduates while earning .79 CPM on all miles. You’ll pull dry van trailers with 70% drop and hook, no touch freight, and no forced dispatch. Float between dedicated routes east of Texas, out 10-14 days, home 3-4 days (longer if needed). This role pairs you with new CDL A graduates, and you can recommend early upgrade at 80-100 drive hours. Average 3,500-4,500 miles weekly with pay up to $3,555 per week, plus $1,300 in bonuses per student.
What You'll Do8
- 1Train new CDL A graduates during their first 14-16 days on the road.
- 2Mentor students to achieve early upgrade at 80-100 drive hours.
- 3Float between dedicated routes, all east of Texas, covering 10-14 day stretches.
- 4Swap between training and solo driving as needed.
- 5Handle 70% drop and hook with all dry van, no touch freight.
- 6Provide on-the-road coaching on safe driving and OTR procedures.
- 7Report student progress to the Berkman Group dispatch team.
- 8Maintain your own CDL A credentials and compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements7
- 13+ months of Class A OTR experience or 6+ months local experience.
- 2Valid CDL A license (required).
- 3No SAP or former SAP (Substance Abuse Program) participation.
- 4Willingness to train new CDL A graduates on the road.
- 5Ability to be out 10-14 days and home 3-4 days.
- 6Comfort with 70% drop and hook and dry van freight.
- 7No forced dispatch, must be open to dedicated route flexibility.
