Own the classroom experience in a part-time substitute role within a classical Catholic setting for up to 14 hours per week near Chicago. What You'll Do10
- 1Teach in a classical Catholic classroom according to RCA standards
- 2Uphold a traditional student/teacher relationship and provide clear classroom management
- 3Deliver instruction in alignment with provided curriculum and grading guidelines
- 4Collaborate with RCA staff and participate in mandatory training days
- 5Engage students with Socratic teaching methods during class sessions
- 6Maintain timely communication with families and staff
- 7Ensure compliance with background checks and RCA Safe Child training
- 8Attend Monday and Thursday center hours from 8:45am to 3:15pm
- 9Assist with maintaining a respectful, faith-oriented classroom environment
- 10Support program goals during contract hours and school year sessions
Requirements9
- 1Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- 2Demonstrated love for the Catholic faith and living the sacraments
- 3Background check and RCA Safe Child training completed prior to teaching
- 4Willingness to participate in mandatory training day on August 3, 4, or 5, 2026
- 5Availability for Mondays and Thursdays from 8:45am to 3:15pm during the academic year
- 6Experience in homeschooling, parish ministry, Catechism, or classical/private schooling preferred but not required
- 7Strong communication, organization, and timeliness
- 8Comfort with working in a faith-based academy
- 9No teaching certification required initially; training provided
