Cashier, Retail Store & Customer Service
Overview
You will own the checkout experience at a Northern Tool + Equipment store, serving tradespeople and weekend warriors. You will process transactions with POS systems, greet customers, and offer Protection Plans and credit cards. You will work with a team of 10+ store associates to keep the sales floor stocked and priced. This role is the first and last impression customers have, and your positive attitude sets the tone for their visit.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet every customer as they enter the store and ensure they enjoy a hassle-free shopping experience.
- 2Complete all transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system.
- 3Offer the Protection Plan on eligible products and promote the Northern Tool credit card on every transaction to earn incentive pay.
- 4Help the team put away product, execute price changes, and complete other tasks that improve customer service.
- 5Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring safety standards are met.
- 6Answer customer questions about product features, pricing, and availability, directing them to the right department when needed.
- 7Assist with inventory counts and restocking during slow periods to keep shelves full.
- 8Collaborate with team members to meet daily sales goals and uphold brand standards.
Requirements8
- 1Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- 2Flexible availability including weekends and holidays, with open availability preferred.
- 3Spanish language skills preferred to better serve diverse customers.
- 4Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- 5Ability to lift 70 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- 6Service-focused mindset with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- 7A love of tools and equipment is a plus.
- 8Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the US.
