Overview
You will own the front counter at 7th Street Burger, delivering New York’s best smash burgers and crispy fries to a steady stream of customers. You handle the flow from greeting to payment, keeping the line moving and the energy high. You team up with cooks and fellow cashiers to ensure every order lands right and every guest leaves happy. What You'll Do8
- 1Open the register at the start of your shift, counting the starting cash and verifying the float.
- 2Close the register at night, reconciling sales and cash to match the day's totals.
- 3Enter customer orders into the POS system with precision, selecting the correct items and modifiers.
- 4Process payments in cash, credit card, and mobile formats, giving correct change and receipts.
- 5Maintain counter cleanliness, wiping down surfaces, clearing trash, and restocking supplies as needed.
- 6Coordinate with cooks to confirm orders are accurate and complete before handoff.
- 7Support fellow cashiers during rushes, jumping in to handle lines and balance workload.
- 8Deliver a welcoming experience, greeting each guest with a smile and answering questions about the menu.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of experience in a high-volume, fast-casual restaurant or similar environment
- 2Food handler certification strongly preferred but not required
- 3Proven customer service experience, engaging positively with guests in person
- 4Cash handling experience, including counting and reconciling a register
- 5Basic math skills for making change and handling transactions
- 6Comfort with POS systems and ability to learn new software quickly
- 7Physical stamina to stand for long shifts and handle busy periods
- 8Reliable attendance and a punctual, professional attitude
