Case Manager/Addiction Counselor Baltimore | CSC-AD or CAC-AD
Overview
You will own comprehensive case management and addiction counseling for parents in Baltimore's child welfare system, serving 50+ families annually. You will conduct DSM-5 assessments, lead CBT and motivational interviewing sessions, and coordinate care with housing, employment, and medical providers. You will work onsite at 301 N. Gay Street alongside a clinical team, reporting to the Clinical Director. This role stands out because you will provide court testimony in CINA proceedings and directly influence family reunification outcomes.
What You'll Do9
- 1Conduct DSM-5 assessments and ICD-10 coding to determine treatment needs and create individualized care plans.
- 2Deliver individual, group, and family counseling using CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
- 3Coordinate case management by linking clients to community resources, housing, employment, and medical providers.
- 4Document clinical interactions in EHR systems, using DAP notes and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- 5Facilitate IOP/OP group sessions and monitor parent progress through program levels.
- 6Create FRP official court reports weekly and attend all court docket conferences.
- 7Provide expert testimony in CINA court proceedings as subpoenaed, using first-hand knowledge.
- 8Enter parent outcomes into SMART and Penelope databases, and collect urine specimens as needed.
- 9Maintain CSC-AD or CAC-AD certification and CPR certification, and attend all trainings.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
- 2CSC-AD or CAC-AD certification, or trainee status with full certification within one year.
- 32+ years providing case management or counseling to individuals with substance use disorders.
- 4Strong knowledge of CBT, motivational interviewing, and crisis management techniques.
- 5Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- 6Experience with EHR systems and ICD coding for billing.
- 7Ability to manage crisis situations and maintain confidentiality under HIPAA.
- 8Experience with SMART database or similar substance abuse tracking systems.
- 9Knowledge of Baltimore's child welfare system and social service organizations.
- 10Demonstrated respect for Baltimore's vulnerable children and families.
