You will install 16-gauge cold-formed metal framing, hang and finish drywall, and build acoustical ceiling systems on commercial projects in the Washington, DC area. You join a crew of skilled carpenters and drywall finishers working on active interior construction sites. What You'll Do10
- 1Install 16-gauge cold-formed metal framing per project specs and drawings.
- 2Hang, tape, mud, and finish drywall to required finish levels.
- 3Install RF foil and insulation or barrier systems as specified.
- 4Build acoustical ceiling tile (ACT) grid systems and place ceiling tiles.
- 5Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to plan work.
- 6Measure, cut, and fit materials to hold quality and reduce waste.
- 7Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- 8Work from ladders, scaffolds, and elevated surfaces for framing and drywall.
- 9Handle and position materials and equipment for each task.
- 10Follow site safety rules, wear PPE, and keep a clean work area.
