What You'll Do10

  • 1Check on assigned residents throughout the shift and respond to call bells within minutes, documenting any changes in condition.
  • 2Administer medications following the Six Rights of Medication Pass, documenting each dose and reporting refusals or missed doses to the nurse on duty.
  • 3Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming while promoting independence and dignity.
  • 4Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse at each shift change.
  • 5Restock the medication cart after each pass and maintain a clean med room, checking for expired medications.
  • 6Take and record vital signs: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and weight.
  • 7Serve and collect food trays, reporting meal refusals or decreased appetite to the supervisor.
  • 8Handle continence management and disposal of products to keep resident suites and restrooms sanitary.
  • 9Participate in monthly service plan updates, contributing observations from daily care.
  • 10Report any occupational exposures to blood or hazardous materials immediately.

Requirements6

  • 1High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 3CPR Certification preferred.
  • 4First Aid Certification preferred.
  • 5Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred.
  • 61+ years of experience working with seniors preferred.
